Day 1: Arrival in Negombo

  • Warm welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport.

  • Transfer to your hotel in Negombo – a charming coastal city.

  • Relax and enjoy a short sightseeing tour: Dutch Fort, Fish Market, and Hamilton Canal.

  • Overnight stay in Negombo.


Day 2: Negombo → Anuradhapura

  • Travel to the ancient city of Anuradhapura (approx. 5 hours).

  • Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, and Abhayagiri Monastery.

  • Learn about Sri Lanka’s first kingdom and its spiritual significance.

  • Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.


Day 3: Anuradhapura → Polonnaruwa

  • Head to Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital (approx. 3 hours).

  • Explore Gal Vihara, Parakrama Samudra, Royal Palace ruins, and ancient statues.

  • Witness the grandeur of Sri Lankan architecture and irrigation.

Day 4: Polonnaruwa → Sigiriya

  • Depart to Sigiriya (approx. 1.5 hours).

  • Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century marvel with frescoes and gardens.

  • Visit a village for a traditional lunch or enjoy a nature walk in the Habarana jungle.

  • Optional: Evening safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla (depending on elephant movement).

  • Overnight stay in Sigiriya/Dambulla.


Day 5: Sigiriya → Kandy (via Dambulla)

  • Visit Dambulla Cave Temple, home to ancient Buddhist murals and statues.

  • Proceed to Kandy, the cultural capital (approx. 3.5 hours).

  • En route visit a spice garden in Matale.

Day 6: Kandy → Nuwara Eliya

Day 8: Ella → Yala National Park

Day 9: Yala → Rekawa

  • Drive to Rekawa beach (approx. 2 hours), a peaceful coastal village known for turtle conservation.

  • Relax on the beach or visit the Rekawa Turtle Watch to witness sea turtles nesting (seasonal).

  • Overnight stay in Rekawa or nearby Tangalle.


Day 10: Rekawa → Unawatuna

  • Travel along the southern coast to Unawatuna (approx. 3 hours).

  • Stop en route at Dondra Head Lighthouse or Weligama Stilt Fishermen.

  • Unwind on the beach or explore Jungle Beach and Japanese Peace Pagoda.

  • Overnight stay in Unawatuna.


Day 11: Unawatuna → Galle → Negombo

  • Explore the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colonial charm.

  • Walk along ramparts, browse boutiques, and visit Dutch Reformed Church and Maritime Museum.
